About

Who writes StyleFusion Homes and why: a house full of inherited furniture, one finished guide per subject, and how the site is funded.

StyleFusion Homes is a small site about named home styles and how to combine them — cottage to Mediterranean, vintage against modern. Cozy, but styled: the name is meant literally. It is written by Johnny.

I'm Johnny. The idea for this site came from a house I inherited. It was full of old furniture and things that were still good, and I wanted to keep them and combine them with new pieces so the place would feel cozy and personal, not sterile like a catalog. While working out how, I collected every article and idea I could find. At some point I had so many notes that it seemed a waste to keep them to myself, so they became this blog. I'm not an interior designer, so I don't ask you to take my word for things. Every guide is checked against sources I have read myself, and it links to them. Where a number is only my own rule of thumb, the guide says so.

Most home sites give you more. This one tries to give you less, and finish it: one guide per subject, written to be the last page you need on it. Where a guide recommends a material, a dimension or a product, the aim is that you can act on it the same afternoon.

The site is organised by style — vintage × modern, cottage and farmhouse, timeless and classic, Mediterranean and Spanish, coastal, the elements that serve them all, and a seasonal archive — with a room-by-room index as the cross-section, because a project usually starts in one room. The guides are being rewritten one at a time, starting with what readers ask about most; the older articles stay online while that happens.
